Job summary

Peoplemark is seeking a dependable Retail Janitor / Store Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of the store. You will handle floor care, restrooms, and general surfaces to provide a welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing high-touch areas, restroom restocking, waste disposal, spill response, exterior upkeep, and inventory monitoring of cleaning supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Experience in commercial cleaning or retail maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, dilution ratios, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency with heavy cleaning equipment like vacuums and buffers.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a tasks checklist independently.
• Friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with coworkers or customers.

Responsibilities

• Floor care: sweep, mop, vacuum, and use floor scrubbers to maintain tile and carpet areas.
• Surface sanitization: clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces throughout the sales floor.
• Restroom maintenance: clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms.
• Waste management: empty interior trash, recycle, and dispose properly.
• Spill response: address spills quickly with proper hazard signage.
• Exterior upkeep: sweep entrances and maintain storefront walkways.
• Inventory monitoring: track cleaning supplies and notify leadership when stock is low.
