Job summary

Peoplemark is seeking a dependable Retail Janitor to maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of our retail store. You will handle daily cleaning tasks across showroom, restrooms, offices, and exterior areas to ensure health and safety standards are met.

The role requires a strong work ethic and comfort working in a fast-paced retail environment. Availability for first shift and weekend shifts is expected, with physical stamina to perform routine cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Proven experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or retail maintenance is strongly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, dilution ratios, and safety protocols, including PPE usage.
• Proficiency using or willingness to learn heavy cleaning equipment such as industrial vacuums and electric floor buffers.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a tasks checklist independently with minimal supervision.
• Friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with coworkers or greeting customers on the sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Floor Care: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and use floor scrubbers to maintain tile and common areas.
• Surface Sanitization: Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces across the showroom.
• Restroom Maintenance: Clean, sanitize and restock restroom supplies.
• Waste Management: Empty interior trash and recycling, dispose properly.
• Spill Response: Respond quickly to spills and post hazard signs.
• Exterior Upkeep: Maintain entryways and exterior walkways by removing litter.
• Inventory Monitoring: Track cleaning supply levels and alert leadership when replenishment is needed.
