Job summary

Peoplemark is seeking a dependable Retail Janitor/Store Custodian to keep our retail space clean, safe, and welcoming. You will handle daily tasks across showrooms, restrooms, offices, and exterior areas to uphold health standards.

The role involves floor care, surface sanitization, restroom maintenance, and inventory monitoring, with a focus on customer safety and store presentation in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Experience: Cleaning/janitorial/retail maintenance experience preferred.
• Chemical safety: Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and PPE usage.
• Equipment knowledge: Ability to operate or learn heavy cleaning equipment like vacuums and floor buffers.
• Time management: Strong organizational skills with minimal supervision.
• Communication: Friendly, professional demeanor with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Floor care: sweep, mop, vacuum, and use floor scrubbers as needed.
• Surface sanitization: clean and disinfect high-touch areas on the sales floor.
• Restroom maintenance: clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms several times per shift.
• Waste management: empty interior trash and recycling, dispose of waste properly.
• Spill response: address spills quickly and place hazard signs.
• Exterior upkeep: maintain entrances and sidewalks, pick up litter.
• Inventory monitoring: track cleaning supplies and notify leadership when stock is low.
