Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to manage a defined store area and oversee daily operations as Manager on Duty. You will open/close, supervise Associates, ensure a clean, inviting, properly merchandised sales floor, and uphold Ross standards.

You will lead with safety, service, and brand integrity, while coaching staff, managing Front End activities, and supporting store-wide loss prevention and payroll duties.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and supervise Associates.
• Maintain safe, clean and merchandised store environment according to company standards.
• Represent and support the Ross brand at all times; maintain professional appearance and dress code.
• Perform merchandising duties including back stock, resets, and implementing presentation guidelines.
• Support loss prevention through presence, engagement, and adherence to policy.
• Supervise Front End operations, cashier training, and break scheduling; ensure efficient checkout.
• Administrative duties such as payroll, scheduling, and reporting as assigned by Store Manager.
