Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Storage) to shape NAS architecture and platform direction within Infrastructure Platforms, Foundation Services. You will drive standardization, vendor evaluations, and cross‑team collaboration to modernize storage infrastructure.

The role emphasizes observability, performance engineering, and durable design patterns, with a focus on reducing incidents and enabling scalable storage solutions across enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise‑scale storage experience.
• Deep knowledge of NAS platforms/services.
• Strong architecture and standardization skills with reference architectures and baselines.
• Experience with storage products from vendors such as NetApp, Dell, VAST Data, Weka, DDN, Pure Storage.
• Proficiency in one scripting language (Python/PowerShell/Bash) and automation of repeatable tasks.
• Experience with public cloud storage (AWS/Azure/GCP) and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Applies technical expertise and problem‑solving to projects focused on enterprise NAS architecture, engineering standards, and platform direction.
• Drives a workstream or project consisting of NAS reference architectures, resiliency patterns, and performance standards.
• Defines, documents, and governs design and configuration standards; promotes standardized NAS configurations across the platform.
• Leads vendor/product evaluations and delivers evidence‑based recommendations for roadmaps.
• Partners with compute, network, cloud, application, and cybersecurity teams to architect changes and modernize processes.
• Improves platform performance and stability through observability, performance engineering, and preventative controls.
• Advises on data and systems implications (AD/LDAP, encryption, backup/DR) and mitigations.
• Supports SRE via technical consultation during incidents and problem management.
• Leverages AI‑enabled workflows to optimize analysis, documentation, and automation.
• Contributes to team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
