Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Plano, TX seeks a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer to drive reliability and modernization of corporate infrastructure platforms. You will own end-to-end problem detection, drive cross‑team initiatives, and design scalable automation patterns.

You will lead capacity planning, implement observability, and coordinate with platform teams to reduce risk, outages, and MTTR while aligning with business objectives in a global financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Own reliability and operational excellence for IP‑based storage services, including availability, performance, capacity, and operational risk reduction.
• Act as SME for enterprise storage platforms including design input, troubleshooting, upgrades, and lifecycle management; provide 24x7 support coverage, incident response, and escalations; lead restoration activities during high‑severity events.
• Drive SRE best practices; define, measure, and improve SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and operational KPIs for storage services.
• Reduce operational load by identifying toil through automation; implement safe automation with guardrails and rollback strategies.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs, on‑call playbooks, and knowledge articles; collaborate on architecture reviews, change planning, and reliability improvements.
• Support capacity management and performance engineering; ensure compliance with change management, risk controls, and audit readiness.
• Role participates in a 24x7 on‑call rotation and may require off‑hours work for maintenance and risk reduction.

Responsibilities

• Applies deep technical expertise and problem‑solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, and mitigating risk.
• Architects and implements changes with other platforms to modernize the organization and its technology processes.
• Own infrastructure engineering in accordance with business requirements.
• Executes work according to compliance standards, risk and security, and business objectives.
• Lead end‑to‑end problem detection, resolution, and prevention; improve MTTR through better observability and remediation.
• Drive a workstream spanning multiple infrastructure technologies including lifecycle and dependency management.
• Partner with adjacent platform teams to resolve systemic issues and modernize processes.
• Design scalable solutions for high‑complexity challenges, including automation and repeatable patterns.
• Evaluate data flows and integrations; provide mitigation and contingency recommendations.
• Improve telemetry and observability of storage products with tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Splunk, Netcool, etc.
