Job summary

JPMorganChase, a global leader in financial services, seeks a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to advance storage and infrastructure platforms across on‑prem and cloud environments. The role emphasizes AI‑driven observability, automation, and strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams to meet reliability targets.

You will own incident response for storage services, drive RCAs, and implement preventative actions while shaping runbooks and standard operating procedures for scalable operations.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts.
• Demonstrated AI-assisted infrastructure workflows with validation habits.
• Ability to review AI-assisted recommendations before implementation.
• Strong knowledge of storage fundamentals (RAID, replication, snapshots, IOPS).
• Hands-on with major storage ecosystems (NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure, Ceph, etc).
• Solid Linux fundamentals, networking, kernel/storage concepts.
• Scripting in Python/Go/Bash.
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus/ Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog).
• Proven incident management skills and on-call experience.
• AI/data skills for operations (anomaly detection, forecasting, integration into CI/CD).

Responsibilities

• Uses enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and documentation.
• Applies AI-assisted practices to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options.
• Own and improve SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and on‑call readiness for storage services.
• Lead incident response for storage outages and perform RCAs.
• Create and maintain runbooks, escalation paths, and standard procedures.
• Operate and enhance block/file/object storage across on‑prem and cloud.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and DR validation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, OS, database, and app teams to meet workload requirements.
• Build automation for provisioning, patching, upgrades, replication, backup/restore, and compliance checks.
• Implement AI-driven observability with auditability and safe rollout.
