Job summary

The Voleon Group seeks a hands-on Storage and Datacenter Team Manager to guide a critical storage engineering team. You will provide architectural oversight, mentorship, and hands-on support across Ceph-based systems and large-scale data lifecycle processes.

Ideal candidates bring deep Linux storage expertise, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure in data-center and cloud environments. Occasional on-call rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux systems administration with storage focus.
• 2+ years in team leadership or mentoring.
• Experience with Ceph and PB-scale data archiving/backup.
• Hands-on with co-located data center infrastructure.
• Strong scripting in Bash and Python.
• Familiar with Ansible, CI/CD, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Lead storage, database, and systems admins; mentorship and career development.
• Coordinate datacenter operations across facilities and with vendors.
• Define priorities and ensure timely project delivery.
• Participate in hiring to grow the storage team.
• Oversee on-call schedules and incident response.
• Drive automation for deployment and monitoring.
