Job summary

Adyen Storage Team in San Francisco/Chicago seeks a senior storage engineer to design, deploy, and manage data storage infrastructure. You will handle SAN/NAS/DAS/Object Storage, capacity planning, backups, DR, and automation.

This role requires deep Linux storage expertise and hands-on experience with Ceph and enterprise arrays. The position emphasizes production reliability, clustering, and collaboration with Platform Engineering.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration with a focus on storage (Ceph).
Proven experience with enterprise storage systems (Purestorage, NetApp, EMC, Dell, IBM, Hitachi).
Strong understanding of RAID, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, multipathing, and file systems (ext4, XFS, ZFS).
Hands‑on experience with enterprise storage systems and clustering technologies.
Proficiency in shell scripting.
Knowledge of Python, Puppet or Ansible; virtualization with VMware or KVM.
Familiarity with cloud storage solutions like AWS S3 and EBS.
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix).

Responsibilities

Design and deploy storage infrastructure (SAN, NAS, DAS, Object Storage).
Monitor and maintain storage systems for performance and reliability.
Perform capacity planning for future storage needs.
Develop backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
Troubleshoot storage systems and document configurations and standards.
Collaborate with Platform Engineering on upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
Automate storage provisioning with scripting or IaC tools.
