Job summary
Vultr is seeking a Storage Operations Engineer to build, maintain, and operate Ceph-based Cloud Storage environments. The role requires deep Linux knowledge, experience with distributed systems, and strong scripting/automation skills.
You will work across cross-functional teams to improve stability, performance, and reliability of storage services. You will participate in design decisions, develop automation, and monitor/alert systems to ensure high availability.
Qualifications
- Strong Linux experience (CentOS/RHEL/Debian/Ubuntu).
- 3+ years configuring, deploying, and managing distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Ceph or similar software-defined storage.
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python/Bash).
- Experience with monitoring/metrics tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
Responsibilities
- Continually enhance the Ceph-based Cloud Storage System for stability, scalability, and performance.
- Participate in design and architecture decisions for Ceph-based storage.
- Develop automation frameworks for Ceph-based infrastructure.
- Optimize metrics collection and alerting systems.
- Collaborate with Network and Operations teams for capacity planning.
- Research and develop cutting-edge storage features for Ceph.
