Job summary

Fidelity Hotel, in Cleveland, is hiring a Steward to support daily kitchen and dining operations and ensure sanitation, organization, and adherence to safety guidelines. You will hand-wash dishes, clean surfaces, and keep equipment in good working order while following all health regulations.

Qualifications

• State-issued food handling certification is required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans by hand or using a dishwasher, ensuring items are clean and sanitized.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, floors, countertops, walls, and equipment; sweep, mop, and sanitize surfaces.
• Properly dispose of waste and recycling materials; empty and clean garbage bins regularly.
• Assist in organizing kitchen supplies, replenish stock as needed for smooth operation.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators).
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards and sanitation procedures.
• Assist in keeping dining area sanitary (tables, chairs, surfaces).
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure efficient service and address sanitation concerns.
• Respond to spills, accidents, or other emergencies requiring cleaning and attention.

Fidelity Hotel is an adaptive reuse project located at 1940 E. 6th Street in the historic 103-year-old Baker Building. Fidelity Hotel has 97 guest rooms & suites, each with tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and thoughtfully curated art. The property features a full-service restaurant, bar, event & meeting spaces, and a private dining room. Fidelity Hotel is an homage to Cleveland’s long-standing ideals. What you'll do:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans by hand or using a commercial dishwasher; ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before reuse
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, countertops, walls, and equipment; regularly sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen surfaces
• Properly dispose of waste and recycling materials, ensuring garbage bins are emptied and cleaned regularly
• Assist in organizing kitchen supplies, utensils, and equipment in their designated places; replenish stock as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, fryers, and refrigerators, to ensure they are in good working condition
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, following proper sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area, including sanitizing tables, chairs, and other surfaces
• Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for team members and guests
• Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure efficient service and address any cleanliness or sanitation concerns promptly.
• Respond to spills, accidents, or other emergencies that require immediate cleaning and attention

Who you are:

• You have state-issued food handling certifications as required.
• You are able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
