Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician to execute Decontamination, Processing and Sterilization workflows. The role ensures instruments are cleaned, tested, documented, and prepared for High Level Disinfection or Sterilization in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and 4 months of Sterile Processing experience, plus CRCST or CSPDT certification. PPE adherence and cross-disciplinary teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 4 months minimum experience in Sterile Processing or 400 hours hands-on experience.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to wear PPE.
• Must interact with staff across disciplines.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean instruments and equipment and prepare for High Level Disinfection or Sterilization.
• Inspect, function test, and assemble instruments and equipment.
• Maintain required documentation on logs or computer systems.
• Prioritize instrumentation for processing and dispatch equipment and supplies.
• Follow department and Mercy Service Standards.
