Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room team by preparing and delivering surgical supplies and instruments. Under supervision, you will process and sterilize equipment, manage inventory, and ensure proper storage in the core.

The role requires CRCST certification within 18 months of hire, 18+ years old, and preferred two years in sterilization. Strong communication and adaptability are essential for patient-centered care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification within 18 months of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Two years of sterile processing experience preferred or a Central Service/Patient Care Assistant role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Able to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse people.
• Frequent lifting or carrying 25 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
• Package, sterilize, and track surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain inventory and storage of supplies in the core.
• Operate power equipment (autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners) and troubleshoot as needed.
