Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room team by preparing and delivering supplies, instruments and equipment for surgeries.

Under supervision, the technician cleans, packages, and processes equipment, maintains inventory, and uses sterilization tracking software; must be CRCST certified and able to lift 25 pounds+. This is a full-time role with evening shifts and occasional travel to nearby locations.

Qualifications

• HSPA CRCST certification within 18 months of hire.
• Two years of experience in sterilization processing of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation within the past four years or a relevant vocational certificate.
• Strong communication and patient-centered, customer-focused communication skills.

Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Technician prepares and delivers medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures under supervision.
• Cleans, packages, and processes surgical equipment and instrumentation and maintains core inventory and storage.
• Operates and troubleshoots power equipment to process instruments (autoclaves, washer disinfector, ultrasonic cleaners) and uses sterilization tracking software.
