Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room team by preparing and delivering sterile supplies for surgical procedures. Under supervision, you will handle instruments, maintain stocked core storage, and track sterilization using multiple computer systems.

The role requires CRCST certification within 18 months of hire or equivalent experience. Strong communication and the ability to lift 25 pounds are essential in this fast-paced perioperative setting.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification within 18 months of hire.
• Two years of sterilization experience OR related vocational certificate.
• Ability to communicate with diverse people empathetically.
• Physically able to lift 25+ pounds and work in perioperative setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver medical/surgical supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Clean, package, and process surgical instruments and maintain inventory.
• Operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment (autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners).
• Use computer applications to track sterilization processes.
