Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Georgia Sterile Processing Department seeks an experienced technician to perform decontamination, prep, packaging, sterilization and high-level disinfection of reusable instruments and endoscopes. You will track instruments using a computerized system and support inventory across KPGA locations.

The role requires knowledge of regulatory standards, two years’ experience, and a High School Diploma or GED; a CSPD certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience cleaning and sterilizing instruments and endoscope reprocessing.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification board in Sterile Processing or RCA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, AORN, AAMI, ASGE, SGNA and APIC standards.
• Associates degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, inspect, and package complex surgical instruments and endoscopes.
• Sterilize or high-level disinfect items per manufacturers and policy; follow safety rules.
• Maintain instrument tracking and QA/QC across CSPD equipment.
• Manage PAR stocking and provide courteous service to customers and members.
• Apply department policies and report safety issues to supervisor.
