Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize and store medical/surgical equipment per CDC and hospital guidelines. You will participate in instrument processing and cart assembly for OR cases.

The role requires two years of SPD experience, completion of an accredited Sterile Processing program, and ability to operate sterilizers and tracking systems. Strong attention to quality, safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

Two years' recent experience in Sterile Processing in an acute hospital.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program (400 clinical hours) or Surgical Technician program.

Responsibilities

Fill orders from requesting departments.
Perform decontamination, cleaning, packaging, sterilization and storage of items.
Validate PM status on equipment issued to SPD.
Operate steam and plasma sterilizers and endoscope reprocessors.
Assemble and inspect OR sets per protocol.
Maintain instrument tracking documentation.
Prepare OR carts according to preference cards.
