Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and equipment across the hospital. You will follow established procedures, maintain accurate logs and ensure instruments are available when needed, supporting patient safety.

The role requires keen attention to detail, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and a commitment to teamwork and quality care.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately and consistently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, inspects and prepares instruments for decontamination with PPE.
• Loads and operates washers and ultrasonic cleaners.
• Prepares instruments for sterilization using aseptic technique and wraps for sterilization.
• Loads and operates steam and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers and endoscope reprocessors.
• Maintains logs and inventory, and assists with case cart preparation.
