Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to clean, inspect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and medical equipment for patient care. The role includes stocking supplies, delivering sterile equipment, following health regulations, using tracking systems, and supporting clinical staff.

Schedule is 40 hours per week with a variable shift. Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic understanding of infection control and sterile processing.
• Ability to read and follow instructions accurately.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Load, operate, and monitor washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers.
• Assemble instrument sets and ensure sterility and packaging integrity.
• Distribute supplies and instrument carts to clinical staff as needed.
• Maintain clean work areas and follow safety regulations and PPE procedures.
