Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Surgical Services Technician in Greensburg, PA for a 13-week contract. The role assists in surgical procedures and maintains a sterile environment to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include sterile field preparation, instrument handling, instrument decontamination, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Active PA or Compact license and CBSPD/IAHCSMM-HSPA certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Active PA or Compact license required at submission.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience.
• Current CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA certifications.

Job Description

The Surgical Services Technician is responsible for providing quality patient care by assisting with surgical procedures and ensuring a sterile environment. This role requires proficiency in various surgical techniques and equipment, as well as adherence to established protocols for infection control and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing necessary materials during operations.
• Ensure all surgical instruments are clean, functioning, and properly stored.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Participate in the decontamination and reprocessing of surgical equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Preferred previous charge experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in an acute care setting.
• Active PA or Compact license required at submission.
• Current certifications: CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA.
