Description:The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.Familiarity with various scopes and biological indicators is necessary.The technician will be expected to operate sterilizers and high-level disinfection equipment.Attention to detail is crucial when organizing and labeling surgical trays.Experience with specific procedural instruments such as bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, and EGD scopes is preferred.The role may require occasional floating to nearby facilities.Candidates must commit to working during designated holidays.Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential in this position.The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in patient care and safety.Proper selection of wrapping materials and adherence to sterilization protocols is expected.Daily responsibilities include tracking and logging the processing of equipment.Knowledge of infection control practices and safety standards is required.The technician will assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.This position supports a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, and urology.
