Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech (SPD Tech) to join the General Stores and Central Supply team. The role sterilizes, cleans, processes, and distributes medical supplies behind the scenes, with no direct patient interaction.

Training on day shift will occur before night shifts, and occasional travel to support facilities may be required. Requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• SPD certification not required.
• Previous SPD or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives soiled and contaminated items in the decontamination area.
• Sterilizes instruments and equipment using aerator, gas, or steam sterilizers.
• Packages items in steri/peel as required.
• Performs quality assurance testing for sterilization methods to ensure sterility.
