Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments. This full-time role includes day shifts with rotation weekends and holidays, with 40 hours per week.

The job requires attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and accuracy in instrument tracking using Censitrac. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least one year of SPD experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1 year SPD experience preferred.
• Ability to follow established procedures precisely.
• Knowledge of Censitrac Instrument Tracking system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Wear proper protective attire during decontamination.
• Follow procedures to ensure decontamination is complete and correct.
• Set up decontamination equipment and maintain workflow.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and work area after shift.
• Handle infectious waste per hospital policy.
• Assemble instrument trays and verify correct components.
• Test instrumentation for function and insulation.
