Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia seeks a Sterile Process Technician to support operating rooms and hospital units. You will inventory, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and dispense surgical instruments and trays, following IFUs and aseptic technique; operate washers and sterilizers; and maintain instrument tracking and labeling.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program is required.
• CRCST certification is required.
• Provisional CRCST is not eligible.
• Weekend Day shift is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize and dispense surgical instruments and trays for the OR, Delivery Room, nursing units, and all other departments per IFU and aseptic technique.
• Operate automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers safely per manufacturer instructions.
• Verify pre- and post-sterilization quality indicators and document results.
• Use Instrument Tracking System to maintain inventory levels and documentation.
• Label items with name and expiration date and monitor package integrity; address issues as needed.
