Job summary

Penn Medicine seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support the Operating Room by cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments. You will join the Perioperative Services team, ensuring timely delivery and accurate instrument tracking using the TDOC system.

The role requires a Certified Registered Central Service Technician, a high school diploma, and 4+ years of instrument processing experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician is required.
• Certified Healthcare Leader is preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED required; 4+ years of instrument processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes surgical instrumentation.
• Follows established priority list, OR schedule, and uses the TDOC system for tracking.
• Produces instrument sets and manages supplies; demonstrates cost control and efficiency.
• Acts as a preceptor and provides training to new staff; participates in annual in-services.
• Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to departmental policies.
