Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room team. You will prepare and deliver instruments and supplies, and manage sterilization processes under supervision.

The role emphasizes patient safety and high-quality care across Mayo Clinic’s campuses. The position involves equipment operation, inventory management, and collaborating with perioperative staff to ensure timely availability of sterile items.

Qualifications

• HSPA Certification as Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 18 months of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Prefer 2 years of experience in handling and sterilization of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation or equivalent certification.
• Ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic, and articulate manner.
• Frequent lifting/carrying of 25 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Clean, package, and process surgical equipment and instrumentation; maintain inventory and storage.
• Operate multiple computer applications for sterilization tracking and processes.
• Operate and troubleshoot power equipment to process instruments (e.g., autoclaves, washer disinfector, ultrasonic cleaners).
