Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room team by preparing and delivering instruments and supplies for surgical procedures. You will clean, package, and track sterilized equipment, while maintaining inventory and handling multiple computer applications for processing and tracking purposes.

Under supervision, you will operate autoclaves and related equipment, ensuring timely delivery and readiness for procedures.

Qualifications

• HSPA CRCST certification within 18 months of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Two years of experience in sterilization processing or related roles within the last four years preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds or more repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
• Clean, package, and process surgical equipment and instrumentation; manage inventory.
• Operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment (autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners).
• Coordinate with operating room team under supervision to support patient care.
