Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room team in Minnesota. You will prepare and deliver sterile supplies, ensure proper processing of instruments, and help manage inventory under supervision.

Ideal candidates have CRCST certification within 18 months, 2+ years in sterilization, and strong communication. This full-time role includes varied shifts and potential travel to nearby facilities.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification due within 18 months of hire.
• 2+ years of experience in handling and sterilization of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation in the past 4 years.
• Alternative: 2 years as Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant in an acute care setting within last 5 years.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Able to adapt to unpredictable perioperative situations and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver medical/surgical supplies, instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Clean, package and process surgical equipment and instrumentation; manage inventory and storage.
• Operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment (autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners) and use multiple computer applications for tracking.
