Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our SPD team in New Jersey. You will assist in processing instruments, sterilization, inventory, and record-keeping to support safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with computer basics including Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assists in processing of instruments, surgical trays, and case carts in the SPD.
• Operates decontamination and processing machinery and maintains product quality.
• Checks expiration dates and removes outdated items.
• Maintains accurate records of processed loads and logs Biological indicators.
• Stocking and rotating SPD supplies; ensuring timely availability.
• Steams and Sterrad sterilization of instruments and devices per procedures.
• Performs daily soil rounds and supports unit leadership in absence.
