Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II to ensure high quality instrument processing for the Operating Rooms, Maternity, ED, and throughout the hospital. You will disassemble, clean, disinfect, decontaminate, assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies per established standards.

The role requires at least two years in sterile processing, CRCST or CSPDT certification, and familiarity with EPIC/CSIQ/SPM systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years sterile processing experience.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required.
• Knowledge of sterilization principles and endoscope processing.
• Proficient with hospital computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, disinfect, decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments.
• Process flexible endoscopes and handle related equipment.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and proper function.
• Assemble and wrap instrument loads for sterilization.
• Load, monitor and document decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Document chemical, mechanical and biological monitoring results.
• Assist training of new staff and rotate departments as needed.
