Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking an Instrument Coordinator to oversee sterilization, kit assembly, and instrument tracking for the Operating Rooms, Maternity, and Emergency Department. The role requires CRCST/CBSPD certification or equivalent and at least four years in sterile processing, with Endoscopy experience preferred.

Proficiency in EPIC and instrument-tracking software, excellent organization, and teaching abilities are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
4+ years of sterile processing experience in an operative setting.
Endoscopy experience preferred.
CRCST or CBSPD certification or equivalent required.
Excellent organization, operations, people management and problem solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; EPIC/CSIQ knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Prioritize instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and surgical case picking.
Assist and collaborate with OR staff in revision of instrument kits.
Act as resource for technicians for instrument identification, kit assembly, and other department processes.
Act as preceptor in the orientation, training, and evaluation of new staff, clinical students, and volunteers.
Manage loaner instrumentation process.
Monitor total joint and other consignment instrumentation for completeness.
Verify sterilization cycles, biological tests, and associated documentation.
Maintain HIPAA standards.
