Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes surgical instrument trays and decontaminates instruments.
• Operates washers, ultrasonic cleaners, autoclaves and other decontamination equipment.
• Inspects, tests, assembles, labels, and sterilizes instruments per policies and manufacturer instructions.
• Tracks and logs equipment, instruments, and sterilization cycles for compliance.
• Runs biological and diagnostic tests to validate sterilization processes.
• Identifies safety hazards and initiates corrective actions.
• Places sterilized items in storage and ensures timely turnover per surgery schedules.
• Supports infection prevention and assists frontline staff as needed.
