Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in San Diego seeks a Sterile Processing Tech to ensure proper maintenance and distribution of disposable supplies and durable medical equipment for patient care. The role requires sterile processing expertise with two years of acute care hospital experience and CSPDT/CRCST certifications.

The position involves ensuring instrument readiness for OR services, documentation of loads and testing, and collaboration with surgical teams.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
• 2 Years Experience in an acute care hospital, sterile processing, or surgery department.
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) -REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Communications: Reports malfunctions or questionable loads to the Lead Technician or Manager and provides information for MSDS receipt.
• Responsibilities include inventory, ordering of instruments for service line and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains count sheets for assigned service lines, par levels, and prepares trays; conducts in-service education 4-5 times per year.
• Documents sterilizer load contents and results of biological and vacuum testing; labels all implantable items for quarantine.
• Manages instrument processing: disassembles instruments, inspects for damage, reassembles trays, loads sterilizers, and ensures proper labeling.
