Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas seeks a Sterile Processing Technician 2 to clean, sterilize, process, arrange, and distribute patient equipment. You may also mentor Sterile Processing Technician 1 staff.

Duties include preparing rooms with instruments and supplies, cleaning and sterilizing equipment per guidelines, managing inventory, and upholding strict safety, infection control, and quality standards to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year in sterile processing.
• Certification/license: CBSPD/CRCST/CSPDT or CST.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and arranging rooms with instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Clean instruments and equipment using approved detergents and disinfectants; operate sterilization equipment.
• Manage inventory by ordering, replenishing, and distributing instruments and reusable medical equipment.
• Follow safety, environmental, and infection control rules to uphold patient care standards.
• Share skills with the team; mentor entry-level Sterile Processing staff.
