Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles seeks a Sterile Processing Technician II to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute reusable surgical instrumentation across departments. You will operate autoclaves, hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, washers, and other equipment per IFU and maintain accurate documentation.

The role requires Sterile Processing certification or equivalent, 1 year of processing experience, and proficiency with medical terminology and computer systems.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Sterile Processing Program or an accredited Surgical Technician program. If no completion of program, must have an additional three years of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech.
• 1 year Sterile Processing experience.
• Current Sterile Processing Certification (HSPA/CBSPD) or CST/TS-C from CAAHEP/ABHES; renewal required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets following protocols andIFU; check functionality and cleanliness.
• Disassemble and decontaminate instruments; load washers per IFU.
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment; document QA and maintenance.
• Dispense sterile instrumentation; maintain sterile inventory and par levels.
• Train or guide other Sterile Processing Technicians as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and resolve instrument issues with OR and other departments.
