Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute reusable surgical instrumentation. Responsibilities include autoclave and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, washers, and load verification with IFU compliance.

You will maintain instrument inventory, support OR staff, and train others while adhering to SPD SOPs and quality standards. LA City safety training is required within 30 days of hire where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Completion of Sterile Processing Program or accredited Surgical Technician program; if no completion, must have additional three years of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech.
• Sterile Processing Certification current (HSPA, CBSPD) or CST/TS-Cert from CAAHEP/ABHES, renewed before expiration.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire (LA City only).

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets per electronic count sheets and IFU.
• Disassemble instruments and load washers per IFU.
• Operate and maintain sterilization/disinfection equipment and document quality assurance.
• Dispense sterile instrumentation to locations and manage sterile inventory.
• Train or guide other Sterile Processing Technicians as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and communicate with OR and others to resolve issues.
