Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and labeling per procedures. The role includes case cart management and ensuring safe, efficient processing aligned with department standards.

The job requires a HS diploma or GED, and certification (CRST/CBSPD) within 2 years of hire. Prior healthcare or manufacturing experience is preferred, with ability to work under stress and minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent GED is required.
• Crst or CBSPD certification required within 2 years of hire.
• One year health care or similar manufacturing assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports department initiatives to meet productivity standard and flexible staffing needs.
• Demonstrates understanding on proper handling of equipment, instrumentation, chemicals, performs preventative maintenance, observes PPE standards in decontamination process.
• Scans, sorts, inspects and assembles instruments by instrument list, wraps and labels as documented in procedure.
• Monitors and controls the issue of supplies and equipment.
• Performs record keeping.
• Other duties as assigned.
