Job summary

Community Memorial Health System seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to provide professional sterilization and decontamination services across patient care departments. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience.

CRCST certification is preferred and knowledge of instrument sets is essential. Responsibilities include maintaining sterilization logs, preparing instruments for sterilization, and ensuring compliance with infection control

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of work experience.
• CRCST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and decontamination procedures for instruments and equipment.
• Inspect, assemble, care for instruments and instrument sets.
• Maintain sterilization logs, labels, and testing documentation.
• Operate sterilizers and instrument washers following manufacturers' guidelines.
• Prepare instruments and trays for sterilization with wrapping and labeling per procedures.
• Perform routine testing of sterilizers and washers and log results.
• Maintain a clean, orderly sterile processing area and respond to calls.
• Provide lot labels on sterilized items for tracking/recall.
• Adhere to infection control principles and standard precautions.
• Assist with inventory control and participate in performance improvement.
