Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and trays. The role includes maintaining records, stocking sterile supplies, and supporting case cart building and emergency requests within the Sterile Processing Department.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of Central Service experience, and CRCST certification preferred with initiation within the first year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination: disassemble, clean, disinfect instruments and equipment following proper protocols.
• Assemble instrument trays and packs per written instructions and confirm instrument readiness.
• Operate sterilizers and related equipment; document loads and monitor sterilization processes; maintain accurate records.
• Build surgical cases by pulling supplies based on computer-generated preferences and label locations for efficiency.
• Assist with OR/Pre-op/PACU requests and participate in department in-services and training.
