Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of trays, instruments, and equipment, following infection control practices. You will assemble instrument trays, operate washers and sterilizers, document loads, and support case cart building while maintaining records and inventory.

Requires high school diploma or GED and 2 years of Central Service experience; CRCST preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Two years Central Service experience required.
• CRCST certification preferred, to be obtained within the first year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination: disassemble, clean, and disinfect instruments and equipment.
• Operate decontamination equipment (sonic washer, cart washers, washer sterilizers, decontaminators).
• Assemble instrument trays and packs according to instructions and verify functionality.
• Document all sterilization information accurately (manual or computer).
• Build surgical cases from preference lists and restock carts as needed.
• Assist with OR/PACU requests and participate in training of associates.
