Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of trays and instruments in accordance with infection control practices.

You will assemble instrument trays, operate sterilizers, document loads, rotate stock, and support the OR and Pre-op/PACU as needed. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of Central Service experience; CRCST certification is preferred and should be obtained within the first year.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2 years Central Service experience required.
• License: CRCST preferred, must be obtained within first year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, and disinfects instruments and equipment.
• Operates sonic washer, cart washers, washer sterilizers and decontaminators.
• Assembles instrument trays and packs using written instructions.
• Documents all sterilization information and performs quality control checks.
• Fulfills requests from the OR and supports department training.
