Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, inspect, wrap and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment for Surgical Services and ancillary departments. You will work closely with OR staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts while maintaining efficient workflow and exceptional customer service.

The role requires adherence to universal precautions, strong communication, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Formal Sterile Processing program preferred
• CRCST or CSPDT certification within 1 year

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Provides timely sterile products, trays and case carts in coordination with OR staff.
• Maintains consistent workflow between OR and Central Service Sterile Processing while delivering customer service.
• Follows universal precautions and uses protective attire as required.
• Keeps accurate records and communicates effectively with patients and staff.
