Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in English and read/write clearly.

• Know sterilization principles, aseptic techniques, and cross-contamination prevention.
• Familiar with instrument handling, assembly, and decontamination processes.

Responsibilities

• Selects materials and packaging for instrument sets to ensure aseptic technique.
• Verifies sterility indicators and lot stickers on packages.
• Operates sterilization equipment and selects methods per guidelines.
• Reviews sterilizer charts and records to confirm proper parameters.
• Maintains logs and recalls when sterilization fails.
• Identifies reusable items for decontamination and cleaning.
• Disassembles and inspects items for damage or missing parts.
• Assembles instruments and records information in tracking systems.
• Communicates with departments to resolve issues and participate in training.
