Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, Florida is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to receive, clean, inspect, and sterilize instruments used in surgery and other units. You will maintain sterilization records, monitor stock levels, and ensure proper storage and handling of equipment, contributing to a safe patient care environment.

The role requires completing sterilization procedures accurately, maintaining a clean work area, and being dependable with the ability to cover on-call shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Education details: High School required or equivalent; Associate preferred; Technical/Vocational schooling preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: BLS, CSPDT, CRCST preferred.
• Background checks and Florida-specific requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Receive soiled and contaminated instruments or equipment from surgery, anesthesia, and nursing units.
• Prepare, clean, and disinfect instruments and equipment appropriately.
• Inspect instruments for damages or faults and verify correct items and quantities for sterilization.
• Maintain records on sterilization and track issued equipment to nursing units.
• Assist with stocking levels and supply preparation for surgeries.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area and be flexible for scheduling and on-call duties.
