Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support daily hospital operations in the SPD. You will handle decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging and sterilization of instruments for the hospital and affiliate offices.

Cross-training is provided; you will prep case carts, deliver supplies to OR, and maintain proper sterilization records. Must obtain CBSPD certification eligibility within 1 year and have a High School diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain CBSPD-Technician certification within 1 year of employment.
• Basic computer skills and aptitude required.
• Willingness to learn decontamination and sterilization processes.

Responsibilities

• Cleans instruments and supplies using accepted techniques and procedures.
• Prepares instruments, trays and sets for sterilization and inspects wrapping/containers.
• Uses steam and Sterrad methods and follows loading procedures.
• Operates sterilization equipment including steam, Sterrad, washers and cart washers.
• Assembles instruments for OR procedures and restocks SPD/OR supplies.
