Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support daily operations in reprocessing instrumentation for the hospital and affiliate offices. The role covers decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of instruments and trays for OR procedures.

You will handle case cart prep, delivery, and replenishment of SPD supplies, with cross-training across the department and potential mentoring of new staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Required Certifications/Licensure: CBSPD Technician from IAHCSMM or CBSPD from CSPDT within 1 year of employment
• Basic computer skills and aptitude will be required

Responsibilities

• Cleans instruments and supplies for sterilization.
• Prepares trays and instrument sets for sterilization; inspects and wraps correctly.
• Operates sterilization equipment (steam, Sterrad, cleaners).
• Assembles instruments for Operating Room procedures and restocks OR supplies.
• Return unused supplies to SPD and assist in inventory management.
