Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced SPD Supervisor to oversee sterile processing technicians and support staff. The role coordinates schedules, ensures quality, and maintains compliance with sterile processing protocols.

You will work closely with OR and Surgeons to ensure trays are prepared and issues are resolved promptly, including decontamination and endoscope cleaning. The position requires strong leadership, training abilities, and input on daily operations.

Qualifications

• Seven years of SPD experience, or a Bachelor's with three years SPD experience.
• Proven ability to supervise staff, assign work, manage complex workflows.
• CRCST or CBSPD certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of central sterile staff, ensuring quality and productivity.
• Trains staff on sterile processing procedures and provides guidance.
• Develops schedules to meet supply and service needs and consults on operations.
• Oversees inventory and maintenance of equipment; troubleshoots issues.
• Participates in hiring, promotions, discipline and other personnel matters.
