Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate's Degree or High School Diploma/GED.
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Working knowledge of AAMI and AORN standards.
• Strong customer service and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for decontamination, disinfection and cleaning of reusable surgical instruments, following OSHA safety standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterilization processes for steam and chemical methods; document and monitor indicators.
• Enter, modify and search the instrument tracking system; assist with case preparation and retrieve instruments and supplies.
• Handle transfer, storage and transport of sterile packages per infection control guidelines.
• Interact with vendors and surgical reps for loaner trays and CEUs; follow best practices from AAMI/AORN.
