Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and medical terminology.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain safety and quality protocols.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle instruments and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, and inspect surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Assemble and package instruments and trays for sterilization according to procedure requirements.
• Operate sterilization equipment (autoclaves/chemical sterilizers) and monitor cycles.
• Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and instruments for surgical schedules and emergencies.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to address instrument needs and troubleshoot equipment.
