Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist to lead performance improvement initiatives across Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Sterile Processing Services. You will evaluate workflow efficiency, staff competency, and resource use while guiding LEAN-driven projects and PI activities.

The role requires 4+ years in healthcare quality improvement, a health-related Bachelor's (Master's preferred), and certification such as CPHQ or Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health-related field or industrial engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• Four years' healthcare experience with at least three years in quality/process improvement.
• Certification in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) or Six Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates performance through assessment of workflow efficiency, staff competency, resource utilization, safety and compliance.
• Develops and facilitates implementation of improvement plans following the IHI Model for Improvement and LEAN.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement with select departments and prioritizes them.
• Analyzes data for patterns and trends in care delivery; identifies root causes for patient care trends and for critical event analysis.
• Translates data into actionable information to drive change; disseminates data using run charts, histograms.
• Ensures staff education and resources to facilitate changes; communicates performance to leadership.
